Lisa Kudrow made her return to the Emmy Awards after seven years, arriving at the 2026 ceremony with her 28-year-old son, Julian Stern.

The Friends star walked the red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 14 alongside Julian, whom she shares with husband Michel Stern.

Kudrow, 63, was dressed in an all-black gown with a matching blazer, while her son complemented her look in a classic black suit.

Her return to the Emmys comes as she competes for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the third season of HBO’s The Comeback, where she plays Valerie Cherish. She is also nominated for her work as a writer on the show.

The nomination adds another chapter to Kudrow’s long relationship with the Television Academy. She received nominations for the first two seasons of The Comeback, which were released in 2005 and 2014.

She has not won an Emmy for The Comeback, but she already has a statuette from her Friends days. Kudrow won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award in 1998 for playing Phoebe Buffay.

Her latest nomination brings her career total to 16 Emmy nominations.

The 2026 ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, marks Kudrow’s first appearance at the awards since 2019.

Her current recognition is particularly notable because it comes for the final season of The Comeback.
