Jake Reiner has married his fiancée, Maria Gilfillan, eight months after the deaths of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Reiner.
The couple tied the knot in a small ceremony in early August, according to TMZ. Jake, 35, had previously shared a photo with Gilfillan from a friend’s wedding in Las Vegas in October 2025.
It is not immediately clear when they met or how long they had been together.
Jake’s marriage comes as he continues to deal with the loss of his parents, who died on Dec. 14, 2025. In a recent interview with KABC-TV, he described the past eight months as difficult to process.
“It’s been eight months. It feels like eight years at the same time.
“And it also feels like eight minutes,” Jake said. “Because every moment that I wake up, I’m reminded of my reality.”
Jake, a local news reporter, also recalled being called to his childhood home by his sister Romy, 28, after his parents’ deaths.
Although his work had exposed him to crime scenes, he said it was different seeing his own family at the centre of one.
His brother Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested in connection with the deaths and has since been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty and remains held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.
Jake also spoke about his parents’ relationship with their children, including Nick.
“My parents had unconditional love for all three of us,” he said. “I can tell you they never stopped wanting to help him. They never stopped helping him.”
