Donald Trump has described Maria Bartiromo as a “true warrior” after Fox News Media confirmed that the longtime anchor is leaving the network.
Trump praised the 58-year-old journalist in a post on Truth Social on Thursday, September 3, saying he was surprised she would no longer host her shows on Fox News and Fox Business.
“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump wrote. “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior.”
“Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!” he added.
Fox News Media announced on Thursday that it had parted ways with Bartiromo, thanking her for her 12½ years with the company and wishing her well in her next chapter. The network did not give a reason for the decision.
Bartiromo joined Fox in 2014 after making a name for herself at CNBC, where she hosted Closing Bell and On the Money with Maria Bartiromo. At Fox, she hosted Mornings with Maria and interviewed Trump several times.
Her former programme will transition to Mornings with Fox Business from Friday, September 4. Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street will also be renamed FBN’s Wall Street, with Cheryl Casone hosting when the programme returns before rotating anchors take over.
Bartiromo last appeared on Fox Business Network on August 7 and Fox News on August 9.
