Terry Crews surprises fans with his drawing skills as he sketches Heidi Klum

Terry Crews is showing people that his talents go far beyond acting and hosting. The 58-year-old America’s Got Talent host caught attention after sharing a video of himself sketching returning guest judge Heidi Klum with just a pencil and paper.

Crews posted the drawing ahead of Klum’s return to the show during Simon Cowell’s absence.

“We’re BACK… and we’ve got one of the best coming along for the ride! 🙌,” he captioned the video.

Fans were impressed, with one person asking how it was “possible for a man to have so many talents.”

The video has since picked up more than 43,000 likes on X, 750,000 on Instagram and 300,000 on TikTok.

And this is not something Crews has suddenly started doing.

Just a week earlier, he shared a video of himself sketching Sofía Vergara, which received more than 670,000 likes on TikTok. He has also drawn Simon Cowell and sent him well wishes as Cowell recovers from surgery.

Crews has actually been involved in art for years. He revealed in 2022 that he had received an art scholarship before securing a football scholarship in college. He also previously told Jimmy Kimmel that watching the first Star Wars film in 1977 made him see a future in painting, drawing and special effects.

His first professional steps were also connected to art. In 1987, while still a college freshman, Crews worked as a courtroom sketch artist and local news artist in Flint, Michigan.

He explained that his art sometimes helped him survive when football did not work out.

“I would get cut from a team,” Crews said. “I played on six teams in seven years so that happened a lot.”

He would then return to the locker room and ask players if they wanted their portraits painted.

“Because that’s how I survived. I was always at the end of the roster.”
